This 5,000 square foot beach house was built with many custom details. The wood on the exterior is custom milled vertical grain cedar and the stone was imported directly from Italy for this project. The pivot entry door was designed and built for this home and is covered with grooved and stained nickel panels.
The first floor and stairs of this home are covered with 3/4” thick stone slabs also imported from Italy and cut specifically for this project. The vertical grain cedar on the exterior carries continuously to the interior. The sliding glass doors throughout the home open into hidden pockets creating a very open feel. The ceiling has a pocket around the entire perimeter allowing for indirect lighting as well as hidden automated roller shades at all sliding glass doors. There are also temperature controlled wine cabinets, Marmorino plaster finish on all walls that are not wood or stone, see-through fireplace between the family room and dining room, and a 5 foot linear fireplace in the living room. The kitchen features motorized drawers, book-matched stone slabs and hidden LED task lighting for the countertop.
The second floor features 10” wide European white oak wood flooring with a floating set of stars leading to a guest suite. The master bedroom has a three sided linear fireplace with a recessed niche above it for the TV, rift-cut white oak on all the walls, and a corner ocean view that won’t quit. The master bathroom shower and water closet are covered with book-matched marble slabs from floor to ceiling with no seams. The bathroom sliding glass doors open fully into a pocket which brings the ocean right in. There are two separate master closets with Rimadesio interiors. The ceiling pocket detail carries through from the first floor which also contain indirect lighting and automated window coverings. As a little added perk, the entry chandelier can be lowered down to the first floor for easy cleaning at the press of a button.
This home is completely controlled with a smart home automation system. From every TV in the house as well as an app on your phone, tablet or computer, systems such as lighting, music, temperature, alarm, security cameras, pool/spa, and window coverings can be controlled. There are in-ceiling speakers throughout the home as well as the ocean front balconies and the pool area.
